The 2010 EPTA UK Piano competition has been won by Yuanfan Yang

Yuanfan Yang is just 14 years old and a student at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester. He was recently awarded the Walter Todds bursary in the BBC Young Musician of the year competition - an award given to the most promising musician who did not play in the finals.

This years EPTA UK piano competition featured over 350 pianists from around the country. The first rounds took place in regional centres throughout the country during March. Selected finalsists then performed in National finals in Oxford, Manchester and London. Adjudicators for the finals were Paul Harris, Pamela Lidiard and Philip Fowke. A special prize of a free place on the Chetham's International Summer School and Festival for Pianists was awarded to Channarong Jantararat.

All finalists received music generously donated by Alfred Music Publishers.
